Happy Halloween, fellow print-heads! We wanted to take a moment to wish you many DnD treats this fine holiday and put a bow on our office pumpkin contest entry here at 3DRPG Studios.
If you’ve been following along here in October, we’ve shared a few posts on how we tackled our office pumpkin contest. So, we thought it would be fun to finish off the details as maybe you can snag this fun idea in future years (and maybe even add your own spin on it).
The main cog in our pumpkin details was of course, the resin pumpkins we downloaded for free from Teirale. We then relied on a slap chop base and Army Speedpaints to get us some very simple, novice pumpkin paint steps.
All office entries couldn’t include actual carving (as that leads to some pretty rough odors at work). Thus, we naturally went with a little Rust-Oleum Flat Gray spray primer since that matched our filament of choice, Hatchbox Cool Gray.
For our prized pumpkin’s pedestal, we just plopped it on a Hatchbox box to really sell the motif here. Naturally, we have a lot of those boxes lying around the studio so it was an easy choice.
In the end, we couldn’t overcome the brilliant cow entry: Leonardo DiCowPrio (and rightfully so) but we gave it the ol’ college try. That gnome entry was also epic btw – it took every fiber of our being to not sneak some minis in that one and roll for initiative!
May all your candy treats be Peanut M&Ms (cold of course) and have a wonderful All Hallows’ Eve!
