Hey, that’s no mirage! We really do have a brand new edition of Tomb Thursday after a swell turkey holiday nap. Even better, we consulted the Gods through one of their official channels, and they think you’ll definitely like today’s DnD post.

We’re going right back to the minis well to quench our thirst for even more sandy-suitable 3D prints. We still consider this the early stages of our desert gameboard environment buildout, so we’re all about selecting more miniatures that are a lock to come up during specific encounter builds.

Let’s start with this mighty Desert Mercenary by Loot Studios. This heavy hitter is from their Voracious Sands set. His bulky, musclebound frame reminds us of Pat Roach, the actor in the Raiders of the Lost Ark plane fight scene, who played a German mechanic and packed a heck of a punch. We think he’ll make a great boss or fine bodyguard.

Resident Painter Kimmy Utah was our lead colorist here, as this STL is stuffed with fine details. He holds a couple of sizable weapons that feel like he’s the only one strong enough to wield ’em. We loved Kim’s use of the purple and gold as those colors really accent his Egyptian skin tone.

Our other featured Egyptian miniature today comes courtesy of EC3D Designs. This vision-spinning Catfolk Seer is from their classic Empire of the Scorching Sands set. Our Pharaoh is sure to have plenty of faith advisors around him at all times, so it’s essential we have a couple of these prophets at the ready for DM Ben come scenario-building time.

Kimmy Utah pulled a little double-duty here, covering both of our picks today. Her brush went the classic route with a flowing white robe and just the right combination of supporting colors. The offering bowl is perfectly highlighted because one can’t access the lightning rod to the Gods without first buying some minutes.

Let’s close by sharing the backsides of these two Egyptian miniatures as they are so frickin’ slick. That long tail on our Catfolk Seer is especially amusing. Besides, you probably prefer to see their backs rather than their fronts come initiative time, right?
Until next time!
