Greetings, fellow Hovertrain conductors! Let’s see what ol’ DM Ben was up to this past weekend as our journey on The Forgotten Rails keeps hovering right along. Quick, someone yell, “All aboard!”

We’ve got a nice mix of new Construct miniatures and a couple of scatter terrain pieces that are sure to make Hovertrain life hum along. With our core campaign backstory solidified, a whole cast of characters created, monsters made, train cars assembled, etc, it’s time to ensure we’re coming up with a nice set of accent pieces to really sell the mood in the game.

Let’s start with this epic 3D-printed harpoon gun by STL Miniatures. This fab sculpt is from their epic Airship Crew Set (a must-own). Now, Aether Studios absolutely offers some fine Hovertrain accessories, but come on, can DM Ben ever have enough choices to dress up a scene and create a unique home-brewed encounter?
We’re insanely inspired by Dimension 20’s brilliant Cloudward Ho series, where DM Mastermind, Brennan Lee Mulligan, created all sorts of cool add-on scatter terrain pieces for their stunning airships. Now, we want to do the same sort of add-on pieces for our own train setting.

This one was very smooth to paint due to its form factor and overall size (1×2 d20 squares), so DM Ben didn’t mind stepping in here. Even better, this one is nearly all metal, and we’re quite comfortable with that paint line these days.
We cannot recommend these particular metallic paints enough. They play well off each other and are just so easy to use.
DM Ben is planning some Hovertrain raid scenarios in which this gun will be used to commandeer a train, or vice versa; the Constructs will use this device to defend themselves against unwanted passengers.

Using many of the same paints listed above, DM also colored up this slick safe. The Forgotten Rails is sure to have VIP passengers who need certain valuables locked up in a heavily guarded safe. Another possible scenario is that a Hovertrain could be transporting something very expensive, and that precious cargo would require a secure area for storage. Plus, there’s a lot of reusability for us to use this piece of scatter terrain in other encounters.
We’re nearly positive this is an STL Miniatures or maybe a Cast n Play 3D print, but it’s just a bit too generic for us to source.

Lastly, we featured a few adorable Prototype One Constructs in an earlier Train Tuesday post, but we wanted to paint up a few more from our Pile of Shame. That shorty is a duplicate, but the smiley dude and the hazardous material fella are new STLs. We can’t quite put our finger on it, but we just find them so amusing and perfect for the early-adopter stage of our story.
Until next time!
