Greetings, fellow curious conductors! We’ve got some more ye olde advertising fun in a world where businesses can only do so much to garner new customers in their medieval towns. Let’s explore some more!

We’re always looking for unique, customizable crafting ideas for our scatter terrain that add some more personality and laughs to our ongoing DnD campaign. JunkDrawer Studio is a fun, inspiring YouTuber who shares all sorts of lil’ crafting tips and tricks, and her creativity is addictive. And that’s the point of our own lil’ DnD 3D printing blog- to help and inspire everyone to make a better game.

A quick recap of how we got here. We found a slick free Billboard STL on Makerworld by Greensman. Like Sheldon Cooper, we love trains, so how could we not further explore this 3D print and adapt it for our DnD campaign? We then asked Google Gemini to whip up graphics for our homebrewed vendors and the capital city of Waterdeep, then used Modge Podge to seal the deal.

With some humorous freestanding billboards in hand, we kicked around ideas for a smaller version we could use on our various city buildings. So, we printed a smaller version (3.25″ by 2.25″) and didn’t attach the legs. With some handy Sticky Tack/Poster Puddy, they adhere to our Miniature Building Authority terrain and look great!

We really liked how these turned out, and think our newly crafted local business billboards bring charm and personality to any town setting. There are several steps to get to the final piece, so we highly recommend doing them in a big batch. We’re pretty stoked about showing these off on our next large town gameboard.

We also thought this mischievous DnD villager by Brite Minis would be a great addition for our Hovertrain passengers to see as they rolled by some crass kiddos playing in a field. Our trains carry a lot of VIPs, so imagine their disgust when they see an “innocent” child show ’em the moon! These little additions make a good game great and full of laughter.

Resident Painter Kimmy Utah did the paint honors for us, and I’m sure she thought we lost our marbles sending her this one. Alas, no, this one has some actual history. According to the Brite Minis Post, this is actually Shirime, a yokai from Japanese folklore, with an eye in place of his anus. Wild, wild stuff.
Until next time!
