Greetings, fellow sand blade sharpeners! We’re leaning back into one of our favorite miniature sets from 2026 with two more completed 3D prints that are ready to throw down. Let’s go!

One of our absolute favorite television series is HBO’s Rome, which ran for two seasons and 22 episodes in 2005. It brought together two of our favorite civilizations: the Egyptians and the Romans. DM Ben has an actual travel trip to Rome on his bucket list and can’t wait to soak up all that rich history. Until then, he’ll keep living off the high of his 3D-printed creations.

Roman fighters, some of the most skilled and well-equipped ever to set foot on a battlefield, have so many iconic themes. That rich red color scheme, multi-use tower shield, Gladius sword, distinct helmet, and more. We’ve already finished several variations, including gladiators, other legionaries from today’s core set, and some spinoff Greek soldiers.

So, again, we’re going back to the well here with Cast n Play and their amazing Unyielding Legion set. Like many hobbyists in this beloved space, it’s somewhat rare to slice and complete every single STL in a particular set. Usually, a handful of miniatures or scatter terrain catch your eye, and you race to get them to the table. In this case, we wouldn’t be surprised if we completed nearly all of its 14 miniatures here.

We’ll start with this epic Beastmaster mini and pose. You can practically hear the crack of her fierce whip, can’t you? Novice painter DM Ben painted both Legionaires today since we had a clean, successful paint scheme to work from. He just used ASP Hoplite Gold for the helmet to give these a little variation from the already completed ones.

Our second miniature is called a Living Siege. We’re perplexed why Cast n Play used that particular title, but it’s all good. Once again, DM Ben used that gold paint color for his helm and bracer armor pieces. The classic red cape just makes this warrior sing, baby. We see this one as more of a squad commander due to his battle disposition.

Lastly, we wanted to share another WotC prepainted miniature that certainly fits like a gem in our Beneath the Sands theme. This cool Jackalwere is from their Sand and Stone set. We’ve already 3D printed several Jackalwere STLs, but we actually enjoy a variety of sculpts on the game board.

We’ll conclude with a backside shot of all three miniatures so you can soak in all their amazing details. We’re still trying to find stats for these soldiers because so many of the 5e stat blocks we find have low stats and CRs. The one we’re leaning towards right now is a City Watch Civilar but that’s just in a pinch.
Until next time!
