You could say DM Ben is obsessed with NPC miniatures, and that’s good news for our 3DRPG readers, as we’ve got a pleasing Postman mini by STL Miniatures to feature today!
Even with cool magic items like Sending Stones and Documancy Satchel, the mail still has a place in one’s DnD campaign. Let’s explore why and check out a great DnD-themed 3D-print set in the process.
Our postman miniature comes from a fantastic Post Office set released by sensational creators, STL Miniatures. There are so many fun, unique pieces for any RPG campaign setting. We’ve printed nearly everything from this set and we’re so excited to use them in our Waterdeep town setting.
Today, we’re going to focus on this adorable fella, the Postman. Painted by resident colorist Kimmy Utah, we just love the blue she picked for his coat-cap combo and the offsetting shades for the rest of this dedicated civil servant’s outfit!
Side note: We often make our miniatures a tad bigger to fill a d20 square. This makes them easier to paint and see on the game table. That’s the great thing about resin slicing, though — scaling the pieces to fit your style.
So that begs the question, how might we use a mailman in our game…
Plenty to unpack there for potential hooks with our loveable letter carrier, right?!
DM Ben plans to make a recurring NPC with this particular miniature by having him be one of Waterdeep’s official Lettermen service. Not known for their speed but more for their accuracy, the Lettermen’s slogan is “When it absolutely positively can get there a day later.”
Still, Omin Dran is a capitalist at heart, so he knows the importance of red tape, official documents, and witnessed signatures. He’s handpicked every Letterman since he formed the mail service.
This particular master courier will go by the name Addy Ress. He’ll often hop on and off The Forgotten Rails (with a security Construct escort) to safely get his letters into the right hands. Our adventurer group is sure to have a side quest or two with him at some point. 😉
Until next time!
