We have another treat in store for you today: We’re showing off a brilliant piece of scatter terrain by STL Miniatures and colored by the loveable Laughing Bear Games! Besides, as we always say here in sunny Chandler, AZ, can you really have too much scatter terrain?!
Oh, that forest – such a magical and mysterious place. There are so many mystical plants that, in the hands of the right Druid, can do so many powerful things for the party. Let’s paint a better picture on our game board, shall we?
The second paint project partnership with Laughing Bear Games is sadly coming to a close. We just have one more mighty piece to show you. Arkansas Adam primarily gave us miniatures during round 1, so seeing his skills in action for scatter pieces is so darn awesome.
Today’s STL comes from the STL Miniatures Herbalist Set. We especially love releases tied to a specific character class. Those collections give us a ton of options for placement in our ongoing DnD campaigns. We’re stoked to show you several other pieces here in future posts.
We adore Arkansas Adam’s coloring here. The way he does those shadows seems like pure witchcraft, but that’s why folks like us call them masters at their craft. You can almost reach out and grab a piece of that wood or pop open one of those rugged sacks. So good!
Next, let’s think of some ways to get this beautiful piece of scatter terrain on your gameboard. We’ve got two fun possibilities from our ongoing one-shot, NPC content library.
In Waterdeep, they use the world’s natural resources to survive and make a living, so this piece would be natural to place on their property.
For Huckle’s army of protectors and “pumpkins that ain’t pumpkins,” the compost could be one of the critical components that make his invaluable soil (which allows some of his prized crops to take on a life of their own). Sidequest possibilities include locating a replacement part that recently broke, or maybe someone or something ran off with the entire contraption (thinking that was the secret to his success)! Either way, poor Huckle is beside himself and needs the party’s help!
For our retired river rat, Keanu uses his compost as the final step in his storefront’s potions and creams! Our loveable Druid is the king of recycling and sustainability, so naturally, one of these beauties would be out behind his shop. While either of Huckle’s conundrums above would work here, our mushroom monger might be looking for rare earthy components to mix with his current refuse library and willing to pay handsomely for them.
Pretty darn cool, right?! Druids don’t get enough toys in our game, so DM Ben was ecstatic to print this piece by STL Miniatures and have Laughing Bear Games bring it to life! We’ve got one more amazing terrain piece to share with y’all next week (but maybe some of you can convince Arkansas Adam to do another partnership with us again someday)! Be sure to visit his Instagram, Facebook, and Etsy (where you can request a custom quote for some paint jobs on your own pile of shame).
Until next time!
