It’s hard to believe 3DRPG is on part five of our ongoing Constructs paint guide series for The Forgotten Rails! Inspiration is such a huge part of our beloved DnD 3D printing hobby, so we hope a couple of these colors will energize you for the upcoming hobby weekend!
Our paints’ library mostly consists of Army Painter Speedpaints and the Fanatic Series, which we can’t recommend enough. The complete sets are certainly pricey but it is such a joy to know you can reach for any color at any time. We also have a growing collection of Citadel Contrast paints. Let’s see how we put many of these vibrant colors to work!
Let’s start with The Pulverizer. This construct works in the Corederite mining fields. It’s a dirty job that requires a continuous, heavy hammer and mighty claw. The goal was to make this miniature look grimy and have some extremely strong tools.
We chose Mithril to color its tools and “mohawk” to indicate that this Construct uses this solid metal to help it dislodge Corederite from the mines. Can’t you just picture that hammer flailing and The Pulverizer even using its head to violently attack that stone?!
It slipped our mind that we actually did the paint steps for this Flickering Knight by Loot Studios way back in July. Our bad. Still, we’ll take the time here to tell you that Army Painter Speedpaint Hoard Bronze is such a darn good color! You gotta give this one a try on some armor. It’s somewhat similar to the Death Metal color above, but we just tested it on a hovertrain metal door and LOVED it.
And lastly, let’s share the paint steps for The Accelerator. These Constructs are the cream of Collis Strutts’ crop and serve a critical role as the drivers of The Forgotten Rails’ mighty hovertrain engines!
The cloak color warmed our soul here! Gives such a Luke Skywalker on Tatooine vibe! It will be our go-to pick on many future models.
Hoping you get a chance to try a few of these DnD miniature paint schemes sooner rather than later. And don’t be afraid to share your versions on our Facebook or Instagram pages! We love sharing ideas on specific miniatures and scatter terrain colors and would love to hear from you!
Until next time!
