Greetings, Monday Slogs! Boy, howdy, this past weekend went way too fast. Our newest office mascot, Bailey Mae the pup, is really keeping sleepless DM Ben on his tired toes. Still, he managed to get a little hobbying done over the weekend, so let’s begin!

One of our favorite parts of this weekly series is how it’s trained our RPG eyes to find unique and memorable miniatures for your DnD game table. Sure, we’ll occasionally feature the tried-and-true minis we’ve all grown to love, but we always say the weirder, the better.

Ongoing 3DRPG’ers know we’ve homebrewed a whole narrative around The High Forest and The Forgotten Rails’ Hovertrains. DM Ben made two factions: Shady Tree and his Angry Acorns vs. Tibarious Trunk and his Mad Mushrooms. Basically, it’s our medieval take on the classic Hatfield–McCoy rivalry. These might be the forest’s largest and fiercest foes, but they’re not the only ones!

And that’s where this amazing DnD Garlicle miniature by mz4250 comes into play! Like the rest of his vast RPG library, this TTRPG 3D print is free to download and prints like a champ. Just be extra careful removing your supports. Whimsical details abound in this one, guys, and all you need is a little paint to make them come to life.

Resident painter Kimmy Utah was our lead colorist on today’s miniatures, and thank goodness she accepted these lil’ guys. We don’t even know where to start because every single element is pure joy. Our favorite part is all those little garlic cloves that make the perfect hairdo.

We sent Kimmy Utah a couple of these fellers, but at slightly different sizes. We just wanted to see how her brilliant artistic eye would approach another variation from the first model. This second orange take reminded us of a carrot or squash. Pretty epic, right?! Our first version could either be garlic or an onion. Amazeballs.

Any forest is a ginormous ecosystem, filled with creatures of all shapes and sizes. So, while acorns and mushrooms are natural inhabitants, they’re certainly not alone. One thing is for sure: no one wants these lumbering Hovertrains destroying their natural habitat, so these living entities are setting aside their petty differences and coming together to defeat this new, common mechanized enemy. DM Ben is really looking forward to building one-shot encounters using these curious creatures in the future.
Until next time!
