Looks like it’s time to reach out to a higher power for this week’s installment of Miniature Monday and see what the Sisters have to say…
We prayed to Brite Minis for the perfect nunnery miniatures and once again, they came through in the (supportless) crunch with two heavenly holier-than-thou options from their monthly Patreon.
We utilized the brilliant brush strokes of two of our painters this time! Nun with Bow was done by guest painter Give-Me-That-LLC (aka Kris-Co) and the other Nun was done by resident painter Kimmy Utah. Your campaign needs a higher power and these are just the two minis to bring forth the blessings.
You’ve got a couple of fun placement options when it comes to these superior mothers. DM Ben says your party could stumble upon a savage siege of werewolves swarming their old church…and it’s up to the group to save the day!
Or, some brave adventurers could be tasked with removing these corrupt nuns from their holy posts…but clearly, this sisterhood won’t be going down without a fight.
Lastly, maybe the local town nunnery is a two-headed monster. Meaning, during the day, they care for the poor but on a full moon, they turn into ghastly servants seeking well-off nobles as a twisted act of revenge.
Brite Minis actually has all the figs described above in their overflowing Patreon suppository (available to all monthly $5 subscribers) so it couldn’t be easier to get started. Of course, you could swap Wolf Men monsters for just about anything but we thought that furry baddie type tied in well here.
DM Ben suggests printing a few extra Nuns with Bows to make approaching their Inner Sanctum a bit trickier. An unexpected ambush would also be a really fun encounter (as who would ever see that comin’?).
Locating Holy Warrior stats did not go well initially. We must have had a brain fog curse befall us while writing this article. DM Ben was about to fall back on some Phantom Warriors but then posted his dice dilemma in Facebook’s Dungeon Masters Resources group and his prayers were answered.
Daniel Buss suggested utilizing the Banshee which of course, makes total sense! However, you might want to replace the daily Wail (failed Wisdom save is an auto drop to zero – yikes) with something like a Stun effect. Maybe these particular nuns cheated on their psychometric entrance exams. 😉
Also, group member “Dukeflieg Sca” suggested re-skinning a Cultist with a holy twist if one was so inclined to build their own here…could just affix a few clerical spells like Enthrall, Bless, Cure Wounds, etc.
Other fun ideas included utilizing a green hag stat block (thanks “Franco Escudero), a malign corpse or a Possessed Servant (thanks “Luke Swadling).
See?! Whoever said being bad wasn’t good…it’s actually pretty great. 😉
