Miniature Monday: Squeaky Clean Inspector

Greetings, weekend warriors! Hope the dice were kind to thee this past gaming weekend. We’re one week from those leaves starting to change color and the official start of fall. Let’s begin!

We selected two 3D-printed miniatures today that we think could complement each other well in a particular DnD mission. They also hold up as singles in future, quite common storylines.

Our first creator has its own slick sense of style and takes a more cartoonish, anime route when designing its miniatures. StoneKing’s fantastic sculpts are darn fun, but some folks don’t like mixing these minis with more traditional 3D-printed miniatures. We say, “Lighten up, Francis,” and relax, man. This delightful chap is from their Train Assault set, and we simply love this astute investigator.

We need to preface this 3D print by saying that we sliced it on the larger side so that it filled a full d20 square. That increased size adds a bit of cartoonish flair, but we’ll die on this hill. Resident painter Kimmy Utah was our lead colorist, and we adore the paint selections here. He just looks so prim and proper and most certainly has a British accent. Scottland Yard on line 3!

We really gave this second miniature search the ol’ college try, but DM Ben has a strict 90-minute max search cutoff. This peasant woman is just a bit too common for Google image search to come through in the clutch. We searched the following:

Omin Dran is getting impatient about capturing the Crosstown Cutter, so he assigns our astute Inspector to help with the case. Dungeon Masters should never underestimate an NPC’s value in helping the group get unstuck on a mission.

Our servant scrubber will be a servant inside the top suspect Lord Galobax DuGalle’s mansion. So, our private detective will point the group in her direction while he keeps searching for more clues of his own.
