It feels like a DnD scatter terrain sort of a day as we are building several new series that need their share of TTRPG dressings, including our Kinda, Sorta Portal, and The Forgotten Rails settings. So, let’s take a closer look at a couple of 3D-printed pieces that have a lot of playability.
Dungeon Masters must have a keen eye to properly dress an empty room in DnD. You need to develop the right details without putting too much stuff inside (clutter) or too little within the room (boring). We put our favorite, most playable scatter terrain 3D-prints in a couple large display cases so we can quickly grab them as needed.
Today, we’re pulling two DnD pieces from two dazzling STL creators: EC3D Designs and Infinite Dimensions Games. They’re monthly Patreon and Kickstarter staples here at 3DRPG Studios, and they’ve cost us more filament and resin than we could ever measure. As we’ve said in the past, it’s impossible for us to resist great scatter terrain!
Our Treasure Pile is from EC3D Designs’ Depths of the Savage Atoll set. And our comfy couch comes from Infinite Dimensions Games’ The Lord’s Quarters Furnishing set. Resident painter Kimmy Utah took the reigns on painting these beauties up for us.
We especially like the Treasure Pile here because it’s not necessarily something you would see in a Dragon’s hoard. Instead, it looks like someone travels with a companion who likes to take it all with ’em. So, this scatter terrain piece appeals to our interior Hovertrain car needs. Trunks, trunks, and more trunks – perfect.
The couch seems very regal. Certainly, this 3D print belongs in a fancier space belonging to a fancier character with some deeper pockets. The purple velvet, the soft pillows, the intricate wood carvings, and the gold trim tell a high-brow story.
As we mentioned earlier, we would utilize the couch in a first-class passenger Hovertrain car and place the collection of trunks in the luggage car. For the couch, we see the group inadvertently crashing a snooty tea party via the Kinda, Sorta Portal.
Still, we’ve gone out of our way to print core scatter pieces for every scenario: beds, barrels, tables, cabinets, weapon racks, etc. If you’re constantly on the hunt like us, we recommend these brilliant scatter terrain creators:
You will be amazed at the vast, affordable 3D-printed libraries at your fingertips. Go ahead and peruse. It’s so darn satisfying. 😉
Until next time!
