A steampunk-style miniature deserves (and commands) all the love we can possibly give it. Let’s take a closer look!
This mechanical tinman comes courtesy of Brite Minis and their incredible bang-for-your-buck monthly Patreon. You can see this model is just stuffed with all sorts of details (click the image above for the full view). Hence, we went with a resin print via our Mars Pro 3.
We asked resident painter, Kimmy Utah, to follow Brite’s suggested color scheme and think it turned out wonderfully! For its base, we decided on neutral stone. As usual, Brite’s models are support-free and here you can see how its “arms” give the model the proper printing cushion it needs.
3D RPG always appreciates when the modeler goes all out and ensures the mini sings from a side view as well as from the backside. That little chimney just cracks us up! Will your version make sounds (cause ours does)?
Obviously, this brilliant contraption is the work of some crazy steampunk gnome or senile wizard. So, we needed to find some DnD 5e stats. First, we found this cool “Steampunk of the Realms” guide by GMBinder but didn’t really see anything for our mechanical barrel friend there. Thankfully though, Bryce Little had all sorts of mechanical monsters in an awesome Pinterest post so we’re going to utilize his Scrapper monster! Our quick screenshot is a little blurry so be sure to follow the links here.
Disclaimer: it’s okay if you made mechanical noises in your head while you read this article…cause that’s what we did. 😉
