TGIF, everyone! Not just because a gaming weekend is nearly upon us but because it’s also Train Raider Friday! And we’re especially pumped because, say it with us now, “Everything is better with pirates!” Let’s meet the third member of our Hovertrain Buccaneer Crew.
We’ve already introduced to the first two members of the Train Raiders: Tusk the Trustful (treasurer) and Taters McGee (cook). Today’s feature revolves around one of the most essential duties of any pirate crew – the ale man! After all, marauders adore their drink and get incredibly cranky if their mugs don’t continuously overflow.
Our miniature comes from EC3D Designs and their Depths of the Savage Atoll set. They’ve crafted a subset of sailors that fits our theme perfectly! We can’t wait to introduce more of them in the coming weeks!
Resident Kimmy Utah used her brush skills to color our mighty ale man. Everything detail is perfect: the tall boots, the baggy pants, the dashing sash, and the long beard. We love it all!
The devil (dog) is in the details here, so let’s get the particulars:
Hank knows that if the ship’s ale runs dry or emits a sour taste, he’s done for. Consequently, he lives, breathes, and drinks ale to save his own skin. He has massive arms, so he carries a mighty right hook whenever he’s not holding a keg of some sort.
This was a rather old print (pre-Resin printer days, if you can believe it), and we actually ran this fella through our Prusa Mini FDM printer. And this was even before we made Adaptive Layering mandatory in our slicer steps.
Still, Hammerin’ Hank looks fantastic and perfect using the Arm’s Length Rule. Now, who’s thirsty?!
