Today, we’re on “mop up” duty as we share some less fortunate Train Raider crew members — the infamous redshirts.
Pillaging and robbing are messy work. You’ve got to swab up all those blood stains, move the fallen foes, empty those stinky buckets, and so forth. Doesn’t really matter if you’re on a pirate ship or Hovertrain, the work gotta get done.
It’s no secret that 3DRPG has an affinity for the infamous redshirt crew members on Star Trek. Grab some popcorn, flip on a sci-fi episode, and guess which no-name would kick the bucket first — pure entertainment.
So, let’s meet three new crew members who probably won’t be making any headlines but will instead be among the first to drop all their hit points. 😉
We’re starting with a picker-upper. Someone has to shovel all the nasty stuff that comes before and after any sort of pirate raid. This poor guy is a seasoned pro but still thinks his dirty job is better than begging for food on Waterdeep’s streets.
Next, we’ve got an underappreciated lamp lighter. No one likes to count their ill-gotten booty in the dark, right?! This poor fella gets the monotonous task of checking each and every oil lamp and keeping the lights on. This Human Lamp Lighter 3D print is by EC3D Designs and is from their Everyday Folk II Kickstarter.
Lastly, we’ve “Ol’ What’s His Name?” No one really knows what this dude does all day. He probably roams from one miserable task to the next, but just like in any office, there’s always that one guy, right? You don’t know his name and can never figure out what he’s actually responsible for. This mini is also by EC3D Designs.
We’re creating a pirate crew to incorporate into future ship encounters and The Forgotten Rails’ Hovertrains. The type of transportation they commandeer doesn’t really matter; looting and pillaging can (and will) happen at any time, and of course, there will be some non-memorables that don’t survive or never get in on the glory.
Until next time!
