Pillaging Hovertrains is messy business. As Captain, you need a reliable crew member who can quickly assess and repair the damage of a captured vessel before reinforcements arrive!
Casualties on all fronts are quite likely, especially if the Hovertrain doesn’t want to go quietly. Usually, our pesky Train Raiders can’t commandeer a Forgotten Rails transport unless they first disable it. However, you need someone to reenable it quickly, and that’s where today’s featured 3D-printed miniature comes in!
This time, we turned to EC3D Designs and their marvelous Depths of the Savage Atoll set to provide us with the perfect mini. A gnome tinkerer is the natural pick as our repairman here. Come on, though, what’s not to love about this STL sculpt?
Even better, EC3D Designs nearly always provides us with supportless miniatures, including the base, so there’s no annoying print plate cleanup or gluing steps. Heavenly.
We leaned on resident painter Kimmy Utah to bring this gem home, and she delivered in joyous fashion. We especially love his slick gray hair, goofy googles, and of course, that thick worker’s apron. She also did a swell job on the wooden base, so much so that we asked her to use that style more often on future 3D prints.
Now, let’s get to the particulars to go along with those adorable stubby lil’ legs:
Perfect, right? After all, where would The Enterprise be without the masterful engineering services of one Captain Montgomery Scott?
Our favorite quirk of ol’ Terabyus is that he mostly only talks to his trusty wrench, which he has lovingly named “Grippy.” Like, it’s a bit disturbing how much he loves that wrench more than actual people. However, the Captain doesn’t care how eccentric he is; he wants this bucket of bolts moving again!
Until next time!
