We got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle in this week’s edition of Train Tuesday! Pirates may be the lead outlaws of choice for DM Ben (because everything is better with pirates), but that doesn’t mean there won’t be other plundering groups out there, too! Let’s meet a new bandit that’s sure to whip up some trouble of his own.

You can never just have one criminal organization in your TTRPG universe. Greed always prevails, and the fight for turf never ceases. Even better, sometimes your adventurers are going to have to pick a side, and that makes for great roleplaying encounters!

Pirate Captain Jaguar Jack leads our large band of swashbuckling Hovertrain robbers, but he doesn’t like anyone trying to get in on his action. Alas, intimidation rarely works on other crime lords, and we wanted to introduce a competing thief narrative. And who knows? Our latest NPC miniature might even try to pilfer some of Jack’s own corsair crew?

First things, first! Let’s highlight our STL artisan. Cast n Play released a compelling cowboy-themed Kickstarter called Wild West Mayhem. The 3D print collection comprises five different factions, and even a Western one-shot adventure. Our eyes immediately locked onto El Niño, a Los Rojos Lieutenant. He was just oozing boss-mentality charisma.

Resident Painter Kimmy Utah grabbed a brush to color our temperamental chief cowboy. We rarely give her specific instructions and encourage her to do what comes naturally, leveraging her amazing creativity. He’s got the perfect bad-boy outfit to go with his oversized weapon of choice, and a few sticks of dynamite within reach should silence any smart-alecks.
Now, let’s get to the particulars:
We’re undecided on who we’ll specifically add to his roving band of outlaws, but wheels are in motion. We’re eyeing a few more rough riders from the Townsfolk portion of the master set.

We also wanted to share a few more scatter terrain pulls to further complement DnD homebrewed scenarios centered around our Hovertrain Hostel stop. We’re continuing to add new pieces, so DM Ben has plenty of options as he maps out future encounters.
This colorful meat rack would be perfect for a couple of traveling hunters who either took a Hovertrain to reach new game or are now hopping back on the train to sell their recent rare acquisitions back in Waterdeep. This Food Rack is from Casts n Play’s Bandit Camp set.

Lastly, we got a couple of prepainted items that we snagged at a previous Gen Con many, many moons ago. A fence to hitch one’s horses and a shallow grave to honor a fallen comrade who didn’t survive the journey. We’ll often throw similiar terrain and minis in an old Celsius box (the office energy drink of choice) and then label it for DM Ben. He will then peruse its content as he prepares for future Hey, Hey It’s Game Days.
Until next time!
