Greetings, fellow urban cowboys! We’re galloping into Train Tuesday with a full head of steam. Let’s see what quirky new Construct transportation just became available on The Forgotten Rails today.

Our new DnD Hovertrain setting certainly puts our powerful floating railroad front and center, but there’s absolutely no debate that this secretive tech will spawn wild new contraptions from would-be steampunk copycats! After all, inspiration is at the heart of innovation, right?! So let’s see the latest Construct creation spotted in the wilds of Waterdeep.

Enter good ol’ Brite Minis, who definitely give Constructs some ongoing TLC in their supportless 3D print library. They recently put up this absolute gem of an STL in their monthly Patreon, and it’s a Mechanical Horse, of course. We instantly marked this one for fast-path production, and why wouldn’t we, right?!

Novice painter DM Ben, filled with just the right amount of spunk and determination, was willing to color these steamy stallions. He especially enjoys painting TTRPG miniatures and scatter terrain in this campaign setting because Army Painter’s Metallics are just the gift that keeps on giving.

One of the reasons 3DRPG has been a longtime Brit Minis subscriber for their silly-cheap $5 monthly Patreon is that their STLs never need supports and come off your plate with a couple of mild tool taps. And 95% of the time, we never have an issue. However, long 1×2 d20 square 3D prints can inadvertently chip. This chipping is usually because the miniatures have lighter bottoms and heavier tops.
Still, it’s no big whoop because we simply salvage these misfit prints for our paint color tests. We’re also confident enough to still use them on our game table or to use in future mish-mash pieces.

DM Ben’s first inclination is to introduce these mech mares to his players by placing them in one of our frickin’ awesome Aether Studios’ Hovertrain cattle cars. Another thought is that a group of these gearheads is tied up outside the tavern the adventurers are walking into, and their mech presence immediately raises eyebrows.

Lastly, here are the paint steps DM Ben utilized in case you need a little Bardic Inspiration to get these to your table sooner rather than later.
Nice and easy, just like she rides. We’re also really jazzed about this new cobblestone-ish base we learned, but we’ll share more on that particular new ground scheme in Friday’s upcoming post.
Until next time!
