Train Tuesday Part 139: Clear a Path

Greetings, fellow hardhats! You earned your Labor Day gaming day, and now it’s time to get back to the salt mines! Let’s see what’s under construction on The Forgotten Rails.

As our technological, arcane marvels get closer to running regular schedules in and around Waterdeep, preparing those rail routes for round-the-clock service is mighty ask. Countless details must be checked off before any paying customers can use this society-changing service.

DM Ben already did a fun homebrewed encounter showing how Omin Dran is using eminent domain to formally snatch up land for key Hovertrain routes in and around Waterdeep. Locals aren’t too happy about it, to say the least. Probe Golems and Pulverizers have been marking intended construction zones, only to see forest inhabitants like Tiberious Trunk push back.

We already featured one big earth mover by STL Miniatures for Corederite mining operations. These floating trains need fuel, and extracting, processing, storing, and transporting it is no easy task. You need big machines and a lot of (mech) hands to keep that all churning continuously. Today’s featured machinery falls into the same category.

This earth mover is an absolute beauty and is from their Constructors Set. If you’re a builder, this is a bountiful group of STLs for thee. We’ve sliced nearly every miniature and scatter terrain here, and we’re over the moon with the final pieces.

Resident Painter Kimmy Utah colored this rumbling rover, and she did such a swell job. She didn’t overthink the palette, and that simplicity makes for a great overall look. It’s perfect! Can’t wait for someone to take cover behind this beast.

We also wanted to sneak in a recent miniature that DM Ben messed with the other weekend. Meet Count Bin Face. He’s a free download by Brite Minis. Their Patreon post used this headline: Comte à la tête de poubelle, which translates literally to “Count with a trash can head” (or “Dustbin-headed Count”). No idea about its backstory, but this STL still gave us a good giggle.

This guy uses all our core colors and has no tiny eyes, so DM Ben “volunteered” to color it up.

Nothing too crazy, right? DM Ben plans to utilize this tin-can warrior as a really bad spy who thinks he can infiltrate the inner workings of The Forgotten Rails and bring them down from the inside. Our adventuring party will bump into him during a critical mission where his bumbling antics will nearly bring everyone down.
