Greetings, fellow Hovertrain travelers. No one likes taking a long trip on the “tracks” alone, right? Chatting with fellow rail riders can make the time go by and might even lead to a future favorable friendship. Let’s go!

We’re using today’s featured 3D-printed DnD miniatures for our homebrewed Hovertrain setting, but you can also use them for your own character or as NPCs in another encounter. Flexibility makes the world go round, baby.

This Human Male Battle Master miniature comes from EC3D Designs and is from their fantastic Everyday Heroes Kickstarter. This set is incredibly handy for dungeon masters and helps your table players in a pinch if they need one for their own personal characters. The sculpts in this TTRPG series are action-oriented and print support-free.

We leaned on Sunrise Sven to color both of our miniatures today. He has an excellent eye for color combinations and shows that these kinds of sculpts are right in his wheelhouse. The weathered grey armor paired with his navy blue undergarb goes so gosh darn well together. Definitely feeling a little Game of Thrones heavenly vibe here.

Our second DnD miniature comes courtesy of Brite Minis, another supportless STL soother. This Elf Ranger is from their monthly Patreon, which we still consider one of the best monthly bargains in town (as ongoing subscribers get access to their tremendous library).

You can probably tell that Ol’ Sunrise Sven loves a good bottle of Speedpaint, and we’re fine with that, since we love their paints, too! DM Ben is especially jealous of his solid technique, as that green vest looks so darn good. We just love how this one turned out and can’t wait to drop it on the game table.

We always include a shot of the back of our featured 3D prints because they have so many great model details you deserve to see before deciding if these guys are resin-worthy. Here, the waviness of the clothing almost gives the mini some motion, and the Ranger is just armed to the teeth.

Both of these 3D prints were in the same large batch we passed Sunrise Sven originally, so it was just a happy coincidence that they were painted somewhat similiar. In fact, if it wasn’t for those ears, you could easily take this Elven Ranger and Human Battle Master as related.
And that’s the story hook DM Ben is going to go with here: two orphaned kiddos who grew up together and then joined the mercenary ranks as a dangerous duo. The players will encounter them in the same Hovertrain car and have a chance to trade information or even take on a joint mission (for a cut of the overall treasure take).
