Time to check in on the progress of our ambitious Village Inn Gameboard by Milestone Heroes. For the most part, DM Ben is taking a Ford-assembly-line painting approach but your mind starts to play tricks on you as it can be pretty draining at times.
So, to lift Ben’s spirits, he decided to take a break from the base wood color step doldrums and move on to the stone step. Army Speedpaint has a delightful rock color called “Ashen Gray.” Simply apply it on top of a white drybrush and you’re good as gold. We’ll eventually cover those stones with a black wash but one can immediately see the nice contrast going with the wood.
Ben likes to build out a particular D&D tavern gameboard section on his work desk in real time. That way he can start to drop the tiles in like an RPG puzzle. It’s very soothing.
There’s certainly no shortage of pieces to address but the goal here is to assemble out a single, large room at the Inn which then allows us to reaffirm our core paint steps. With our confidence building, we’ll then re-energize to blast out the remaining rooms (dropping them down on our desk’s WIP area).
Next up – time to get some color on those walls!!
