DM Ben is really trying to expand his game board depth. Too often he gets focused just on Dungeons and Caverns and forgets that outdoor encounters can be just as fun. He’s not alone, right?! A DM needs to invest that same underground energy above ground too.
3DRPG challenges you to recenter your mind and think about what your party is most likely to encounter:
The list goes on and on but for this daily D&D article, let’s focus on that Lumber Mill! All that wood for all those buildings has to come from somewhere, right? The great news is you have all sorts of STL options for this scenario.
Infinite Dimension Games, a leader in the RPG building space, released a slick lumber mill that really got our 3D printing juices flowing! We printed out both the main building and crumblin’ tower so far but that boy, that wheel is no easy feat (0-2 on that one so far) but we now have multiple Prusa MK4s in our stable now so we’re hoping for better luck.
Beyond all their amazing D&D building STLs, their monthly MyMiniFactory trible always releases a phenomenal scatter terrain set. These lumber machines were just ripe for the printing!
Today’s print pic focuses on the buzz saw machine. It’s got a little bit of everything in terms of lumberjack details…especially how it rests on some old dwarven rail tracks (which are primarily used to move the main buzz saw back and forth).
You have to love the play flexibility that comes with this detailed scatter terrain piece as well! Do those tracks lead to an unexplored warehouse or do those unloaded carts continue to roll down further to a mining operation? A DM’s storytelling-mind just races when handling this completed piece.
So who’s next on that ax? We need to know how many pieces of wood a Barbarian can chuck!
