Greetings, Wandering Adventurers! We’ve got another miniature to add to one of our favorite home-brewed factions, and we think you’ll be locked and loaded to add it to your squad too! Let’s go!

We always use our beloved 3D printer to create unique, engaging counters for our DnD adventures. Even better, we often build on one of our homebrewed NPCs, monsters, or one-shot encounters whenever we can. We take a lot of pride in expanding TTRPG content our players have thoroughly enjoyed.

Why do we relate to today’s NPC category? Well, a few of us went to Catholic school and even had some nuns as teachers (back in the early 80s). They even lived in a smaller building right next to the church. It was wild, y’all. So, of course, when we see Nuns as RPG miniatures, we pounce.

First though, a quick recap. We originally had Laughing Bear Games paint Sister Mary Francis and created a story hook where she serves as the Reverend Mother of a secret organization of Nuns whose “soul” job (pun intended) is to fiercely inspect dungeons to ensure any fallen folk are properly passed on and don’t return to this plane in undead form.
From there, we created bodyguards called Soul Sisters who enter a dungeon in lockstep with her and provide the protection she needs to complete her divine duties.

Now imagine our glee when Brite Minis released this Nun with a Gun in a recent Patreon post. This sculpt doesn’t have the wicked good helmet that shrouds our other soul sister foot soldiers in mystery, but guys, come on…this one is holding a rifle. We rest our case.

DM Ben is planning to sneak our beloved Soul Sisters into our DnD work campaign this coming Friday, so he picked up a brush and got these sharpshootin’ ladies table-ready. Between our previous paint scheme and Brite Minis’ own color suggestions, he felt like he could put a little soul into these ladies.

With that said, let’s list our suggested paint steps here:
Army Painter Fantatic Gun Metal is such a great metallic paint, especially with a Soft Tone wash over the top.

DM Ben was especially keen on adding these Soul Sister shooters to the squad because he loves including a mix of melee and ranged miniatures on the gameboard. The 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide has some updated rules on firearms in the game, and these numbers seem solid to us. We’re considering this a hunting rifle.
We didn’t see them holding an automatic, and we liked the visual of them toting a bulky, ranged weapon in their little hands and bodies.
Until next time!
