In yesterday’s post, we shared our Work in Progress pics for our new Egyptian Lost Tomb gameboard. Today, we’re going to piggyback off that pesky project by sharing a favorite 3D print that just got a delightful coat of paint!
You’ve heard us gush about Iain Lovecraft’s Desert Adventures Kickstarter. There’s just so much filament goodness – a wide variety of unqiue miniatures, colorful animals, exotic buildings & structures, reusable scatter terrain, and a host of sandy monsters.
So it just so happens we get to have today’s featured print do a little double duty and serve in multiple ongoing D&D campaigns. This camel transport can slide into just about any Egyptian encounter and also still be a viable choice in a travelin’ caravan from one toddlin’ town to the next. One-off minis are inevitable, but those figs can sting a bit due to all the invested time and expense to get those suckers to the table.
If you recall our latest caravan encounter checklist, we still need to pull our scatter terrain/non-NPC minis. DM Ben is delighted that our humpback friend can answer the call! We’ll certainly throw in a couple more pack animals, a memorable wagon for our Main NPC and then a few more TBDs.
Lovecraft really went the extra mile with this camel STL. We just love how it’s overloaded to the brim as it reminds us of those old Egyptian movies like “The Land of the Pharaohs” and “The Mummy’s Tomb.”
But just look at all those bits and bobs on this scruffy fella?! What’s in all those parcels and packages anyway? This caravan is ultimately going to get sacked thanks to some extra mean Redcaps so any party worth its weight in greed is going to do a couple of investigation checks. And as a DM, you need to be ready.
We used a wonderful Reddit thread to pick our bundled treasure list:
Those shouldn’t be too bad to pull item cards and ultimately assign value for the group’s next city center market stop.
So what are you packing for your own camel for this trip?! 😉
