We’ve got some more step-by-step paint guides for our Construct Crew on The Forgotten Rails. This way, you can color up all our fab 3D-printing finds and get them on your game table quickly and, more importantly, painfully!
DM Ben finds it incredibly helpful to know which Army Painter Speedpaint and Citadel Contrast Paints work with which miniature and scatter terrain elements.
For example, once you know the best paint for leather (Citadel Snakebite Leather, by the way), you will know exactly which paint pot to reach for every time you encounter that situation in the future! This newfound knowledge can really speed up the process!
So, our first STL is The Chain Chomper by Schlossbauer – yet another free download. These heavy weights act as tie-downs for all the oversized, bulky cargo on the Hovertrains.
This mouthy meanie’s paint steps are the only friendly thing about it:
Your call on applying a Krylon Matte Finish Clear coat it (as that can make the mini darker overall).
Next up is one of DM Ben’s absolute favorite secondary Constructs — The Clockwork Butler! This charming hunk of steel caters to traveling passengers’ every whim. The STL is by EC3D Designs and comes from their incredible Bolts and Brimstone Kickstarter (a must-own).
There are a few more paint steps here, but nothing you can’t handle:
Now, all that’s left to do is pick out a voice accent like a smooth British, High Grant sorta tone. 😉
Lastly, we’ve got an extra easy scheme for our protective blood hounds — The Detection Dawgs. This is another free download by Taylor-Mouse.
You’ll probably 3D-print several of these guys:
These squeaky pups typically accompany a Constable Construct and hang around the Hovertrain station, so we wanted them to be a bit dirty and grimy.
Nothing to ’em, right guys?! Again, if a novice painter like ol’ DM Ben can do these steps, so can you!
