Boy oh boy, do we have a treat for you! Good ol’ Arkansas Adam over at Laughing Bear Games agreed to do a second round of painted 3D prints, and we’ve got the first of five bubbling up to the surface.
We showcased Arkansas Adam’s soothing brushstrokes on xx previous prints, including a Pathfinder, Side Guide, Miss Gadmack, Orc drummer, Soul Finder Sister, and some ferocious Howlers.
We then took all these freshly painted DnD miniatures and found a suitable scenario for each, such as a new NPC or wandering monster. The whole process was a total blast.
Now we’ve got a whole new batch, but we mixed up a bit this time by passing him several scatter terrain pieces, a galloping transport, and a seaside building. You best buckle up for another fun ride.
Let’s start with a new piece of scatter terrain by the super STL Miniatures team. This cluttered alchemist table is from their Fantasy Props 2 Kickstarter stretch goals (a no-brainer buy).
Once again, Laughing Bear Games did not disappoint! He picked numerous eye-popping colors that will most certainly brighten up even the darkest dungeon space. His stonework was also sublime. DM Ben has more than enough scatter terrain tables, but he’ll never be able to resist a perfect print.
Just look at all the goodies on this bad boy! Simply magical, right?! STL Miniatures just stuffed it with all sorts of…well, stuff. So, that got us thinkin’ – how can we incorporate this masterful work into our DnD game? We looked no further than DM Ben’s bookshelf.
A kind soul on the Aether Studios discord suggested a DnD supplement book to us a while back, and of course, we had to buy it. Preposterous Potions by Burning Light Press is a page-turning text that pours a little extra life into wizardry characters.
This RPG book gives you 100 new elixirs, libations, and potions to liven up the game. It also contains rollable tables for crafting new concoctions. And it even has several alchemist stores and traveling crafters to insert into your campaign.
Between games, DM Ben will give the party wizard the opportunity to try and ocassinally brew his own kinda potions. Those poor spellcasters sometimes need a little extra love, and this is the perfect way to keep him engaged in the game.
Using their slick potion tables, we created the following:
So now he must find those specific ingredients. For our own added flavor, DM Ben will ask the wizard to make a simple Arcane (DC 10) to ensure that mixing the potion didn’t go horribly wrong.
Then whammo! Your arcane artisan just might have a new fun potion to slip into his backpack.
Once again, a huge thanks to Arkansas Adam for his fantastic paint jobs!! We’re really jazzed to share more of his excellent works in future posts. Be sure to visit his Instagram, Facebook, and Etsy (where you can request a custom quote for some paint jobs on your own pile of shame).
We’re taking a four-day holiday weekend to work on our pile of shame, so we’ll be back at it on Tuesday, September 3. Until next time!
