Now that we’ve established a base set of Constructs for The Forgotten Rails hovertrain DnD game environment, we’re 3D-printing, painting, and adding more colorful androids to the mix! Let’s see what we came up with this past week!
For our ongoing readers, you might notice it’s not even Tuesday today! Well, there’s no such thing as too much hovertrain content, right?! We just post a topic or portion of an ongoing series whenever the mood strikes us. 🙂
Our hovertrain constructs are divided into three categories: security, servers, and secondaries. Now that we have a core base in each, we’ll keep sprinkling in new fabulous finds as we go to make The Forgotten Rails as immersive as possible!
Let’s start with our first secondary android: The Dealer. Hovertrains are indeed the fastest mode of non-portal transportation in the Realm, but travel times can be long, depending on the final destination. So, different types of Constructs have been built specifically to entertain the passengers.
This particular dealer does several popular games, including Griffon’s Wall (our absolute fav) and Sixer Elixir. We highlighted both of these quick and easy tavern games in a previous post. Fun stuff!
This mechanical miniature is by STL Miniatures and is from their super Street Gambler set.
Next up is another security construct: The Copper. DM Ben felt we needed a ranged robot to go along with our Constable Construct. The Forgotten Rails intentionally tries to make their androids “more human” by attaching personal touches like mustaches, beards, etc, so that their protective muscle doesn’t come off so intimidating to its hovertrain patrons.
Novice painter DM Ben took a stab at painting this free 3D-printed miniature by Enfenix. Dubbed the “Infernal Dwarf Blunderbuss,” this mini is intended for the popular Heroquest game, but we think it’s perfect for our police squad.
Lastly, we’re featuring a multi-purpose Construct: The Chain Chomper. Hovertrain freight must be properly tied down and secured, so Collis Strutt, the Rails’ brilliant engineering mind, created these nasty ball and chains to ensure people keep their mitts off the merchandise.
This 3D-printed mini is by the talented Mr. Schlossbauer and can be downloaded for free here.
Until next time!
