The other week, we shared the mighty machine that transports processed C-glass to stalled Hovertrains in the field. Today, we’ll show you what that final fuel is stored in, because a boring box simply won’t do.
There’s no doubt that our Hovertrains by Aether Studios are technological marvels. Still, as amazing as they are, The Forgotten Rails won’t rake in the gold if it doesn’t have ample fuel supplies in reserve. Omin Dran demanded that these trains run 24/7 because time is money. Consequently, he told its founders he wanted a large fuel supply in reserve because once he opened up this new mode of transportation to Waterdeep residents, he never wanted it to stop running.
A quick fuel refresher in case you missed our fuel formula:
The original mined mineral is called Corederite, and its final form is known as C-glass.
We wanted our storage units to exude a mighty industrial vibe, so we opted for these cool Fuel Tanks by EC3D Designs. These mighty storage containers are from their Novus Landing Kickstarter. They printed like a champ in FDM, using our Prusa MK4 3D printer. We increased the density of them so they had some added heft. One might say too much, though, because our final version could be used as a doorstopper. #whoops
DM Ben was the brushman on this DnD industrial scatter terrain. It’s big, it’s bulky, and it has no eyes, so he didn’t mind at all. Army Painter Speedpaint Metallics did most of the heavy lifting, along with a couple of Fanatic colors.
Fortunately, we had already come up with our primary workyard theme by utilizing Citadel Bad Moon Yellow Contrast paint. When applied over a slapchop base, it gives off this worn look that really feels like “Men at Work.” Here, we placed it next to our initial Steampunk Crane by Cast n Play.
We also mixed in a few miniatures, including our Lifter Construct and Orc Fixer, as well as a Dawrven Forge rock piece. This diorama provides scale to everything and demonstrates how all the different pieces come together.
Here are a couple of different angles so you can see all the swell details packed into the STL. Darn cool, right?! We love how this TTRPG 3D print turned out!
DM Ben also envisions numerous one-shot encounters, including:
And that’s just the tip of the dungeon master iceberg!
Until next time!
