DM Ben is asking for more wandering monster options from our beloved 3D printers so we’re picking up the pace and highlighting a few more free downloads from one of our favorite creators.

You just never know what’s lurking under the moon of the forest brush or the darkest corners of a dark dungeon. We respect the classics like Orcs, Kobolds, Zombies, Goblins, and even Mimics, but we don’t like using the same monster categories over and over again. A 3D printer literally gives us near-instant, god-like powers for making any freakish brute in the world. Like, why wouldn’t we take advantage of that?!
So, we’re going to be more consistent in highlighting new monsters for both our free Wilderness Trek Wandering Monster and Dungeon Delve tables. Sometimes, our latest monster meanie 3D prints will be additional rows in our tables, or we’ll create potential scenarios where your DM can drop ’em into play.

Both of our 3D prints are from beloved creator, Schlossbauer. His library of free downloads is nearly indescribable because it’s just stuffed with so much DnD goodness. He has nearly 200 3D Prints (187 as of press time) with typically 3-8 models added each month!
Let’s start with this Piranha Pig. The draw for us is those adorable tiny feet that allow this freak fish to literally walk out of the water and take a bite out of an unsuspecting adventurer!

Sunrise Sven was our paint pro here, and he favored the pig-pigments as the dominant color. That color scheme certainly works for us here. DM Ben saw a cool shark-like theme in one of Miniature Hobbyist’s latest YouTube videos, so we might try that approach since we want a school or “drove” of them, as it were.

Our other 3D print is also by Schlossbauer, and it’s such a hoot! Meet the Abyssal Chicken! We didn’t realize at first that this is an actual monster in the Forgotten Realms, so we pulled its DnD 5e monster stats from their wiki page!

Once again, Sunrise Sven was the colorist here. We’re big fans of the body color and those especially nasty teeth! It would have been preferable if that worm were brown instead of red so that it wouldn’t blend so well with its mouth. However, that may be just part of its tongue; we’re not sure!

So, how are we going to incorporate our freshly created monster miniatures into our campaigns? DM Ben wants to add both of these monsters to our Collector storyline in The Forgotten Rails Hovertrain setting. You might remember that Livestock car that featured all that wacky wildlife, like those Hazmat Ferret Drakes.
Right now, DM Ben likes the idea of a shocking Hovertrain crash where a bunch of these freakish science experiments and rare monsters have escaped, and our adventurers must round them all back up in a big hunt for a nice stash of gold.
Until next time!
