We’re pretty proud of all the home-brewed vendors we’ve made here for our Waterdeep capital city, so it’s time to add yet another!

As is typical for anything town-related, we go to our pride and joy print file generator – STL Miniatures. This time, we’re going to utilize a piece from their Lender set. It’s an older series but it still aged like a fine wine.

Let’s start by recapping all our wonderful shops and colorful proprietors so you can quickly locate them and potentially add one to your own campaign when the time calls for it.

3D RPG’s Shops and NPCs list is really starting to take shape, don’t ya think?!

So, every newly created shop needs four key elements: (1) a floor tile, (2) a central terrain piece, (3) a store name/proprietor, and (4) a miniature. Today we’re going to focus on the scatter terrain piece so we can build some momentum in building this next city store out. This sorta plan will vary based on what inspires you, right? One time, you have the perfect miniature; the next time, it’s the NPC…whatever gets those creative juices flowing!

We love this scatter terrain piece because of all its subtleties: the scribbled ledger, the stacks of coins, the half-opened drawers, the stamp, etc. This desk quickly describes what the group has walked into as they look to offload their ill-gotten booty in for solid coin.

For the store name, we had two here: (1) The Jewel of the Stay Awhile (if you know, you know) or (2) The Loan Rangers (Depp, baby!).

The owners of our Pawn and Lending Shop will be an Elvin brother and sister duo:

• Elara: Meaning “Moon Goddess,” fitting for a night ranger
• Lorcan: Meaning “Fierce,” strong yet mysterious
• Last Name of Silversong (fits great for the race)

As experienced rangers, Elara & Lorcan Silversong know what flying under the radar is like. They saw a demand for explorers to be able to quickly sell recently acquired treasure with no questions asked, so they decided to open their lender and pawn shop as a way to retire peacefully.

Next time, we’ll come up with their miniatures, NPC face cards, a few items of interest from previous sellers, and maybe even an optional side quest!
