Well, shiver me timbers, it’s time for another Train Raiders installment as our beloved treasure-hunting crew continues to grow. Let’s see who decided to sign the loyalty oath this time!
We’re starting to get enough roaming evildoers that a quick recap of who we’ve already assigned to our rampant crew needs an update. Here they are in all their thieving glory:
That’s a heck of a 3D-printed and painted list of Jolly Rogers if we ever saw one. We’re far from done, though!
We consider our Train Raiders crew to be a fantastic story arc that we can tap into whenever we’re low on Hovertrain DnD encounters, so these guys are gonna be our “safety net” when our creative cup occasionally runs dry. These 3D-printed minis are soaking in TTRPG one-shots.
Our latest miniature is from Cobramode and their sensational Boondaburra Navy set. Today, we’ll be focusing on Tilmn Nurasa, Navigator. We rarely take any prewritten names, but this STL is a must-add for any pirate lovers. And it’s easy to see why.
Resident painter Kimmy Utah unsheathed her paintbrush and just put on a masterclass of colors. We just adore her take on this waddling mapmaker. The messy haircut, those feet, the gear, and of course, the meticulous outfit just tie it all together.
Our navigator is one paranoid bird…like, way over the top. So much so that he bonded with a mean-arse monkey from a previous plunder run. Thankfully, EC3D Designs has the perfect print from their seaworthy Depths of the Savage Atoll set. You won’t regret slicing up this particular simian.
Kimmy Utah pulled double duty here and gave us the most wonderful shades of brown combos. Her paint choices bring out his mischievous tendencies, making him the perfect Familiar for our new mapmaker.
Now that we’ve 3D-printed our two newest Train Raiders, let’s assign some DnD gameplay personas:
And then for his Familiar:
We found a great Reddit thread by a gamer who came up with his own DnD 5e stat block, and its hurling tendencies were the perfect trait for this lil’ bugger. However, we liked this beefier version a bit more (as it has some more numbers heft to it), but we’re also going to use the Fling Poo recharge ability from the first one.
Until next time!
