Greetings, fellow dungeoneers! Wandering Monster Wednesday is finally pivoting back to the underground variety, and it’s of the extra-creepy kind. Let’s proceed…but with caution.

Here at 3DRPG, we’re dungeon-crawl junkies for all the right reasons. After receiving our latest Dwarven Forged Kickstarter (Dungeons Re-forged) here in 2026, we’re especially stoked to build some new deep, dark gameboards. Now all we need is a nice big batch of TTRPG 3D-printed foes to fill them with, right?!

Now, any reputable psychologist would certainly diagnose the 3DRPG Studios team with having a 3D-printing problem. After all, our Pile of Opportunity could nearly cover South Dakota if we laid out all our unpainted pieces side by side. We slice and dice 3-5 times a week and multiple times on the weekends. Still, we adore unique STLs or anything with wild and wacky traits, and that made today’s featured dungeon divers a lock to complete.

We turn to the Mighty Schlossbauer and his ongoing library of wonderfully free downloads. He’s got a Stitched Rat that is extra spooky and offers us all sorts of fun, creative placement options for our DnD campaigns. If you don’t have one of his super STLs queued up on your slicer each week, then we gotta wonder what on earth you’re doing over there. 😉

We 3D-printed a pack of these creepy fellas, and we haven’t had a decent night’s sleep since. This STL has so many amazing details. We think you’re really gonna love adding them to your Wandering Monster Dungeon Delve table. We also had a lot of confidence that we could create a base that really enhances the overall mini.

You might recall ol’ DM Ben had some recent success painting several standing rat variations, including upright rodent soldiers and even a larger monstrosity. Hence, he had no problemo volunteering his paintbrush to color these vile vermin up for an upcoming DnD sesh. He just didn’t want to reinvent the color wheel, so he stuck with what he was comfortable with here.
He wanted to try them in both the classic grey fur version and an alternative brown tone. Here are the steps for the grey versions:
So easy! He might go back through and just dot the exposed human eyeball as he feels they’re a little too dark. Still, nothing can obliterate a miniature’s final paint job like bad eye attempts. We agree with Miniature Hobbyist that it’s often better not to do a lot for the eyes or even the faces (especially if you’re more on the novice side, like DM Ben).

For the brown version, he just repeated his Rat Monstrosity paint steps from before since that one turned out so darn good. We liked this fur approach too, so we’ll probably just use both versions in our dungeon encounter. DM Ben used AK Interactive’s Swamp Green Water Gel effect to add just a few spots of dirty pools (very sewer-esque). And then he just used a flock mixture of sand and thin grass to create little debris areas.

In terms of actual gameplay, DM Ben thinks these could be dropped into several different scenarios:
In terms of stats, we sorta leaned on Flesh Golems and Stitched Zombies for inspiration and came up with: AC 14, HP 36, Multi-Att Bite +5/1d4+3, Evasion, Speed 25 ft. And then for its ability stats: STR -1, DEX +3, CON +2, WIS +0, CHA -3. Also immune to poisoning and disease. Lastly, any stitched rat gains advantage if it’s within five ft of a furry ally.
Now, all that’s left to do is update our table for the last time!
